Roy Lichtenstein pop art study

For this project, I studied Roy Lichtenstein and the techniques he used in his pop art work. I looked at his use of bold Outlines, Ben-Day dots, bright colors, comic style, and simplified shapes. I then experimented with these ideas and created my own illustration that feels like it could come straight out of a cartoon.

Sketches, Rough Draft, and studies

Throughout my sketches and rough drafts, I played with color, line, pattern, and composition while still putting my own style into the design. This was my first time working in a pop art style, and I really enjoyed experimenting with a different way of illustrating.
